Our goal at Bonnie Capital is to be your family’s investment manager for multiple generations. We hope to earn this trust by prudently managing your assets over the long-term and helping to educate your children and grandchildren about investing.
Our company is named after our founder’s great-grandmother, Bonnie Gardiner. Bonnie was an astute investor and enjoyed researching and discussing the capital markets. She believed it was important to be a good custodian of her investments and passed this enduring value to her descendants.
JOE KATELMAN is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Bonnie Capital. Joe was previously a Vice President in wealth management at UBS where he was a financial advisor to high-net-worth families. Prior to joining UBS, he was an investment analyst for corporate and institutional clients at Prudential Capital Group in Chicago and Principal Global Investors in Des Moines. Joe’s years spent as an analyst were critical in forming his ability to make sound investment decisions across asset classes.
Joe holds a BBA in finance and accounting from the University of Michigan and an MBA in finance and international business from Northwestern University. He has a strong network from these schools especially in investment banking and private equity. Joe also holds the Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) designation to aid his business-owner clients in succession planning.
Joe and his wife, Sarah, live in Des Moines and have three children – Charlotte, Will, and Sadie.. Both Joe and Sarah grew up in Des Moines and are thrilled to be raising their family in the community. They are involved in various civic groups and enjoy tennis, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
